Week 4... Character of Christ!!

I can't believe it has already been a month. It is going by so fast. I really don't have much to say today because every day is the exact same. The language is coming along great. I still have 2 more weeks left at the MTC. Hopefully it goes by just as fast. I am having a lot of fun.

The movie we got to see on Sunday was a talk from Elder Bednar called "Character of Christ". It was really good. He talked about how we all can be like Christ. We need to put others before our selves. When you are having a hard day, just think... there is someone out there who is having a harder day. I hope everyone can be more like Christ. It will make this world a better place to live in.

I love all of you so much. Sorry this is so short today I don't really have anything to say. Miss you all

One of my best friends, Elder Kolby Smith, just came to the MTC this week. He is going to the Philippines too, different mission. His room is right next to mine and we are in the same District. I get to see him everyday and we are having a blast together. I'm so blessed to have him here with me!

Week 3....

This week was really great!!

Tuesday night Elder David A. Bednar came to talk to us. He was amazing. He talked about how important missionary work is and how not to take it for granted. It was so cool to see him talk. I was sitting in the second row. It was awesome!

After he talked we watched a movie. The movie was Joseph Smith. I love that movie. It shows how much Joseph went through. It was really humbling and really confirmed my testimony that this church is true. He lost a lot of family because he was trying to restore the church. I don't think he would go through all he did if it wasn't real.

The rest of the week was about the same as any other week. I am learning a lot and the language is coming really well. I can hold a decent conversation. It's crazy how fast you learn the language. It is awesome to see how the gift of tongues works.

The MTC is really fun and humbling. It is a lot of hard work but it is great work.

I love everyone of you so much. Thanks for all you have done for me.

 Love ya,

-Elder Boyer

Thanks Grandma, for the yummy Halloween treats!

I'm meeting lots of fun people here!!

Week 2.... A Day in the Life of a Missionary!!

The MTC is awesome!! It is a lot of work but I love it. I am learning so much. Every day is the same though. We wake up at 6:30 a.m., exercise for an hour, then we get ready for the day. After that it is three hours of studying. Then after that it is 6 hours of language class. The language is really easy. I am learning so much. I can hold a pretty decent conversation in Cebuano.

The hard part about the MTC is teaching investigators. It would be easy, but we have to teach everything in Cebuano.
It is hard to understand what they are saying so you have to rely on the spirit so much. The gift of tongues is real.

Sunday was awesome. It was fast Sunday and everyone bore their testimonies. There is a lot of power in the testimonies of missionaries.

That night was movie night and we watched "The Testament" It was a movie about Christ visiting the Americas. It showed when he was crucified. That movie really strengthened my testimony. I saw Christ on the cross and how much he truly did for us. He has been through all the struggles we have.

If you are ever in a big trial, just turn to Christ. Christ can help all of us.

I love all of you so much. Have a good week

Week 1... First Week at the MTC!!!

My District
This has been a crazy week! Here at the MTC, they put the missionaries to work right away! As soon as I said goodbye to my family, I was already being pulled around everywhere. I got my name tag, boods, and my room within the first 5 minutes. Then I went to class and my teacher didn't speak any English to us. They really throw you right into it. I love the work though. I'm learning so much. My P-Days are on Tuesdays here. So if you want me to email you back, email me by Tuesday.

Every day I have 6 hours of language class, and 4 hours of studying time. I love it. The work is amazing and I've learned so much already. Every day is pretty much the same.

My companion is awesome. His name is Elder Johnson. He's from Wyoming and he loves sports. All we do is talk about sports. It has really been fun to get to know a lot of new people. My district and my roommates are all so fun. I am having a lot of fun.

Conference was amazing. There were a lot of great talks. I hope you all learned as much as I did. I loved Russell M. Nelson's talk. He talked about looking for the joy of the gospel. Even when you are going through trails, there is always joy. Joy of knowing that we can live forever and that this world is only temporary. I hope you can all find that joy. I know that we all can find the joy in life. We all need to work for it. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Hey, there's this thing called dear elder. It’s a website, dearelder.com, where you can send me messages and I get them daily. I can't send them back but, It is so fun hearing from all of you so I hope you all can get on and send me something.

Thanks for my packages of Conference treats, Mom! I shared everything with my roomates....except my kettle corn! ;D

I love all of you and miss you so much!!
